The world is fast-paced and amid our busy schedules we usually forget about the challenges our elder people are facing, especially when it comes to brain health. Lately, efforts of age-tech startup named Ivory are changing the landscape. It is founded by Issac John and Rahul Krishnan.
Journey of Ivory started with Issac’s personal experience. He witnessed his father battle Parkinson’s disease. He found that there were lack of resources and support for seniors dealing with such neurological conditions. Similarly, Rahul witnessed the struggles of older relatives who faced loneliness and cognitive decline in his own family.
The two shared experiences and this led them to establish the startup in October 2022. The mission was to redefine the ageing experience by prioritizing brain health. Through neuroscience-backed assessments, interactive games and personalized solutions, they are focusing mainly in empowering seniors to lead fulfilling lives in their later years.
The need for such initiatives is important in today’s fast-paced lifestyle. Studies reveal a concerning rise in dementia cases. It is learned that millions of Indians are currently affected. Factors like loneliness and sedentary lifestyles exacerbate the problem. All these highlight the urgency for action in neuro health.
Issac and Rahul recognized these challenges early. However, they faced hurdles in developing their venture. The primary challenges were limited research and reluctance from the venture capital ecosystem. However, their perseverance paid off. They have now successful raised fund in fundraising round led by Capital A earlier this year.
The two believes that Ivory is poised to make a significant impact with the recent funding and support. Their tech-driven platform offers accessible clinical tools and expertise. They basically bridge the gaps in brain health care for millions of seniors.
