AHODS Technologies Wins Uber Sustainovate Startup Challenge

Gurugram-based startup AHODS Technologies has grabbed the crown at the ‘Uber Sustainovate’ startup challenge held in Bengaluru for their on-demand hydrogen retro-fitment kit innovation that aims to bring India closer to its sustainability objectives.

More than 140 startups from across the world were the applicants. The challenge inspires startups to come up with sustainable solutions for mobility and AHODS Technologies turned victorious. It was awarded with a prize of Rs 1 crore.

The first runner-up was Pune-based Govidyouth Mobility Limited for its innovative EV range extender. The second runner-up was Gurgaon-based Metz Energy Pvt Ltd’s e-trike that featured a dedicated loading bay.

The ‘Uber Sustainovate’ startup challenge was organized in collaboration with Startup India and Nasscom AI. It highlighted the importance of strengthening eco-friendly transportation solutions in India and the top three winners will benefit from mentorship of Uber India’s tech leadership that is aimed strengthen best practices, innovation as well as scalability.

Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries M.B. Patil expressed his optimism for sustainable mobility in the near future. He emphasized the significance of similar initiatives in realizing green aspirations in the country and one example is Uber Sustainovate.

Uber has commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040. The company highlighted its dedication to addressing global sustainability challenges. Paving the path to green aspirations, it has provided a platform for startups to convert ambition into tangible action.

Senior director of engineering and Head of the Bangalore Tech Center at Uber, Manikandan Thangarathnam, appreciated the efforts of some Indian startups in sustainable mobility innovation.

AHODS Technologies is now leading the charge with the support of Uber and other industry giants. The journey towards a greener planet and a more sustainable future has gained momentum.
