AI, Trade, Diplomacy Take Center Stage During PM Modi’s France Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit France on Monday for a two-day trip and he will simultaneously co-chair the AI Action Summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron. His visit is to highlight growing focus of India on artificial intelligence (AI) and making strategic partnership with France more strong.

PM Modi will attend a special dinner hosted by President Macron at the Elysee Palace. Key tech industry leaders are learned to be present there. The summit is to emphasize ethical AI development, cross-border collaboration and economic opportunities.

PM Modi and Macron will address the India-France CEO Forum that is to focus on expanding economic and trade cooperation. Both leaders will also visit the Mazargues War Cemetery in Marseille to pay homage to Indian soldiers who fought in World War I.

A significant milestone will be the inauguration of India’s first-ever Consulate General in Marseille.

PM Modi expressed enthusiasm about the summit ahead of the visit. He emphasized on the potential of AI for innovation and global development. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to strengthen India-France relations through the 2047 Horizon Roadmap. President Macron announced on Sunday a major AI investment of 109 billion euros ($112.5 billion) over the coming years and it signals strong commitment of France to the sector.

PM Modi will next travel to Washington, D.C., to meet U.S. President Donald Trump. Their discussions are learned to likely cover technology, trade, defense and supply chain resilience.

Modi’s visits to France and the U.S. are set to strengthen India’s position on the global stage equipped with AI, economic collaboration and strategic partnerships.
