It is a big day for Akriti Chopra and the company she has been part of. She just won the DNA New Gen Women Achievers Awards in the Startup Category. The award celebrates her hard work and success in the business world. The award ceremony was part of the DNA Women Achievers Day Awards 2023.
Chopra’s journey to success is one marked by dedication and perseverance. Born in 1988, she hails from Gurgaon and pursued her education at Delhi Public School, RK Puram. She went to Lady Shri Ram College for Women in Delhi and got her B.Com degree there.
Her professional career took off at PwC, where she served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). However, it was her stint at Zomato that truly defined her career path. Joining the company in 2011 as a Senior Manager, Finance & Operations, she quickly climbed through the ranks and eventually became CFO in 2020.
Her commitment and expertise didn’t go unnoticed. In 2021, Chopra was not only appointed as the Chief People Officer but also elevated to the esteemed position of co-founder. Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal hailed her as the company’s strongest pillar of support.
Chopra’s impact goes beyond just her job titles. While working at Zomato, she helped create important teams like legal, governance, risk and compliance. She also played a crucial role in expanding Zomato globally and managing its operations in other countries.
