Udaan co-founder Amod Malviya and CFO Rishi Kedia have teamed up to start a new venture and it is named Pre6. The duo has kept details unfolded, but it has already generated buzz. However, it is learned that their startup will be based in Bengaluru as it is a vibrant hub for innovation and technology.
It is interesting to witness the way Indian entrepreneurs are increasingly choosing to step out of their comfort zones and explore fresh opportunities. Both Malviya and Kedia have impressive track records at Udaan. Hence, it is considered that Pre6 would be an exciting venture to watch.
The move is not happening in isolation. Mayank Kumar of upGrad and Ayush Mathur, formerly with OYO Europe, launched BorderPlus recently and aimed at simplifying cross-border mobility. Similarly, Sourjyendu Medda of DealShare entered the sportstech space with Sports For Life. Flipkart’s Binny Bansal launched OppDoor.
The trend shows that the Indian startup ecosystem is maturing. Entrepreneurs are no longer stopping after building one successful company. they are coming back with new ideas, new energy and often some new industries to disrupt. Bengaluru is often called the Silicon Valley of India and seems to be the breeding ground for many. It is gradually becoming the startup capital of India.
It is yet to know whether Pre6 is another tech-first initiative that is aimed at solving complex problems or the duo are venturing into a completely new domain.
Meanwhile, it is being seen that the announcement of Pre6 reinforces a positive trend. Seasoned leaders like Malviya and Kedia are shaping the startup ecosystem and also inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs to take risks, innovate and build meaningful businesses.
