Startup Archetype AI has come up with promises to revolutionize how we interact with the physical world. Isn’t it would be interesting if we can interact directly with our houses, cars and factories as we do with chatbots. Archetype is approaching with innovation. It involves tapping into real-time data that is collected by billions of sensors worldwide.

The technology being used is based on a model named Newton, which is a traditional chatbot and relies on programmed responses as well as interprets data from various sensors to provide insights, charts or computer code about the real-world occurrences. CEO and co-founder of Archetype, Ivan Poupyrev, described it as “ChatGPT for physical reality.”

Poupyrev holds a career experience from the Soviet Union to companies like Sony, Disney and Google. He shaped the vision of Archetype after being inspired with idea of manipulating the world through technology. The startup is backed by a $13 million seed investment.

Archetype COO Brandon Barbello emphasized AI significance in understanding complex sensor data. Newton enables plain language interactions and thereafter simplifies monitoring as well as problem-solving for homes, factories and beyond.

The startup has also partnered with corporate giants like Amazon and Volkswagen. Amazon sees potential in optimizing logistics operations. Meanwhile, Volkswagen is trying to explore how AI can enhance both driving and non-driving experiences. Stefano Bini, a professor at UC San Francisco, anticipates using Newton to advance healthcare interventions.

However, privacy and surveillance are the two primary concerns. Poupyrev and Barbello are reassuring that they are prioritizing to solve specific problems while respecting privacy.

It is believed that the innovation of Archetype holds promise and simultaneously holding prompts reflection on the ethical implications of merging AI with real-world data.
