The IIT Kanpur Alumni Association Delhi Chapter is gearing up to host Startup Master Class (SMC) 2024. It is Asia’s largest deep tech conference and being organized in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The event is to take place on November 23, 2024, and at the Dr. Ambedkar International Center in New Delhi. It is being supported by organizations like IBM, INSA, TiE and the Indian Angel Network.
SMC 2024 is expected to bring together more than 500 startup delegates along with government officials, investors, industry leaders and entrepreneurs. It is a unique platform and to focus on strengthening innovation as well as supporting the development of deep tech products in India. The agenda is ambitious equipped with discussions planned around key initiatives like the National Quantum Mission, National Geospatial Programme, Waste2Wealth Programme and Cyber-Physical Systems Mission.
The conference is to feature notable speakers such as Amitabh Kant, Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Dr. Abhay Karandikar, Dr. Ashutosh Sharma and Dr. Manindra Agrawal. Their insights are to shed light on the opportunities and challenges in the deep tech ecosystem.
One main highlight of the event is to focus on the National Quantum Mission that initially allocated $700 million to support such startups which are working in quantum technology. The mission has ambitious goals of transforming this into a $100 billion industry. The same aligns perfectly with the objective of SMC to boost startup ecosystem and drive progress in emerging technologies.
SMC has successfully organized more than 20 conferences since its inception in 2015. The edition this year is to take that legacy further by encouraging collaboration, strengthening innovation and building deep tech enterprises that can make a difference locally as well as internationally.
