Data analytics is one of the booming technologies in the world lately. Health care analytics is the information of a person regarding previous medical issues and upcoming complications. It also gives information about the person’s medication previously. It provides PGHD (patient-generated health data) which can be the key part of continuous disease management.

Fortunately, advances in data management, particularly virtualization and cloud computing, are facilitating the development of platforms for more effective capture, storage, and manipulation of large volumes of data [4]. Data is accumulated in the time period and at a speedy pace, or velocity. The constant flow of recent knowledge accumulating at new rates presents new challenges. Just as the quantity and style of knowledge that’s collected and keep has modified, so too has the velocity at which it is generated and that is necessary for retrieving, analyzing, comparing and making decisions based on the output.

Healthcare analytics have the potential to scale back prices of treatment, predict outbreaks of epidemics, avoid preventable diseases and improve the quality of life in general. for years gathering Brobdingnagian amounts of information for medical use has been pricey and long. With today’s always-improving technologies, it becomes easier not only to collect such data but also to convert it into relevant critical insights, that can then be used to provide better care.

Uses of data analytics in health care:

Clinical decision support: Big Data Analytic technologies sift through large amounts of data. They understand, categorize, and learn from it. They are then capable of predicting the outcomes or recommend alternative treatments to clinicians and patients at the point of care. This makes treatment a lot easier and accessible.

Computing and Cloud infrastructure: Computing and cloud infrastructure that permits for giant quantities of information process in real time, pushed to the right operational and clinical decision makers at the right time. A decade ago, ideas such as video calls with doctors, doctor-on-demand and Wi-Fi-enabled blood pressure monitors were a fantasy. Today, they are real — and mainstream. Both caregivers and shoppers area unit adopting these tools at a speedy pace to extend potency, lower costs and improve patient satisfaction. And they area unit manufacturing Brobdingnagian amounts {of knowledge|of knowledge|of information} — data with that ancient warehouses merely cannot sustain. The dramatically positive impact Analytics will wear the pressures health systems face to be a lot of economic and improve clinical outcomes

Using analytics to see competitive rates for Insurance products: Insurance firms will run prognosticative analytics on the insured patients’ health knowledge and claim knowledge to predict future prices for next policy renewals or use the trends for new business offers, and at the same time may want to offer Insurance plans on competitive rates.

Vaccine development: data analytics also results in faster development of more accurately targeted vaccines. For example, choosing the annual influenza strains and, turning large amounts of data into actionable information that can be used to identify needs, provide services, and predict and prevent crises, especially for the benefit of populations.

Device/remote monitoring: Analytics of data can also boost go Capture and analyze in real-time large volumes of fast-moving data from in-hospital and in-home devices, for safety monitoring and adverse event prediction.

Public and population health – The solutions that Big data analytics offer can mine web-based and social media data to predict flu outbreaks based on consumers’ search, social content and query activity. BDA solutions may support clinicians and epidemiologists performing arts analyses across patient populations and care venues to assist determine malady trends.

However, as there are always disadvantages of using technology in the mordern day world, BDA in health care also contains some challenges.

Challenges of BDA in healthcare:

– If the data provided by an organization is wrong due to any circumstances, the whole treatment will be wrong and there are many chances of other diseases attacking the body without knowledge.

– Not every hospital or institution provides this facility, thus the hospital or an organization providing this facility charges the patients more than the actual amount.

– The public isn’t aware of this facility provided. they may not know the working of it or the existence of this in our country. this is because of the lack of publicity or advertising the importance of data analytics in health care.

– Integrating unstructured data is a major challenge for BDA. Even with structured EHR data integration, there are many issues.

But, with the improving technologies, BDA will be checked and corrected and will change the clinical treatment in the world.
