CBSE is set to empower students with the Youth Ideathon 2023 Startup Festival, which is considered as India’s largest event for student startup ideas and was founded in 2021 by MEPSC and ThinkStartup. The 3rd edition was launched at CBSE Headquarters in New Delhi on October 6, 2023, with the participation of CBSE officials and previous grant winners showcasing their startup progress.
Dr. Biswajit Saha, CBSE’s Director of Skill Development, lauded Youth Ideathon for its role in motivating and nurturing young change-makers. The aim is to lead India globally while fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in schools. Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, CBSE’s Director of Academics, stressed the need to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in India and urged schools to embrace Youth Ideathon’s comprehensive six-week program.
Dr. Praggya M Singh, CBSE’s Director of Academics Assessment, called Youth Ideathon a “marathon of ideas” introducing students, teachers and schools to innovation and startups. Ms. Shivani Singh Kapoor, ThinkStartup’s Founder, stressed the need for entrepreneurial thinking, aligning with PM Modi’s “Atma Nirbhar Bharat,” and mentioned Youth Ideathon’s incentives like Prototyping Awards and incubation grants.
Sanjeeva Shivesh, Programme Director of Youth Ideathon, highlighted the program’s success in attracting thousands of school students and training teachers in innovation and entrepreneurship. This year, an even greater interest is expected, thanks to sponsors like Bajaj Allianz Life, CONCOR Limited, and others.
Youth Ideathon 2023 offers a 5-stage entrepreneurial festival with rewards and recognition. It culminates in incubating the top 10 student teams into real businesses. CBSE, ThinkStartup and MEPSC collaborate to shape the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs. The efforts will surely enabling them to create solutions for a changing world and keep India ahead.
