The rise of artificial intelligence has introduced a range of virtual assistants and each one is striving to outperform the other. ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Grok, Gemini, Claude and Meta AI are just some in the crowd and of course among the most recognized chatbots equipped with respective strengths and weaknesses.

ChatGPT was developed by OpenAI and it is currently one of the most widely used chatbots. Its latest o1 version demonstrates structured reasoning and impressive language capabilities. However, it sometimes hesitates to generate responses that could violate its usage policies. It even lacks real-time internet browsing and this limits its ability to deliver the most up-to-date information.

DeepSeek is the newest one and was introduced in January 2024. It has quickly established as a strong competitor by providing advanced reasoning model that can be compared to the Western counterparts.

Grok was developed by the xAI of Elon Musk and with a different approach to make it more conversational and humorous.

Gemini from the house of Google is another highly competent AI assistant. It is good but struggling with generating accurate clock faces and often displays incorrect time due to training data biases.

Claude was created by Anthropic and mainly focuses on safety as well as responsible AI use. It is generally reliable, but occasional capacity constraints limit its accessibility.

Meta AI was developed by Meta and incorporates safety warnings about hallucinations answers generated by AI. It is open-source and allows users to download as well as fine-tune the model.
