Chennai SaaS Startup Zepic Secures $2.1M for Product Expansion

It is a great milestone for Chennai-based startup Zepic. It has successful closed a $2.1 million pre-seed investment round. Its mission is to revolutionize customer engagement through marketing automation platform. It specializes in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

The funding round was led by VC firm Neon Fund and it contributed $500,000. Other notable investors were Apple, Chargebee, Freshworks, Microsoft and Zoho.

Zepic has an innovative approach to hyper-personalizing customer interactions. It allows businesses to create tailored marketing campaigns as per their individual customer preferences and behaviors. It can gather data from various sources with the help of advanced technology and transform the same into actionable insights. This process empowers marketers to deliver more effective as well as personalized messaging.

The founding team has an experience in SaaS companies like Zoho and Freshworks. Their combined experience is more than 20 years in the industry. The notable names in the team are Naveen Venkatesan, Bharathi Kannan Ravikumar, Sunil Kumar and Sreelesh Pillai. It is a 20-member team. Some of its clients are HockeyAustralia and TourismFiji.

Zepic co-founder and business head Sreelesh Pillai said the funds will help them in enhancing product development as well as the engineering efforts. The company has aims to expand its market presence in the United States and other key regions.

Zepic co-founder and product head Naveen Venkatesan said they have plans to strengthen data science team in Chennai. This will help in incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the recommendation engine of their products.

Neon Fund Managing Partner Siddhartha Ahluwalia expressed confidence in the company’s potential to emerge as a global SaaS success story. He cited the experienced leadership and strong customer base.
