DRDO Partners Startup to Develop AI Authentication Tool for Defence, Law Enforcement

India’s defense and law enforcement agencies are embracing technological revolution. It has partnered with woman-led startup Ingenious Research Solutions Pvt Ltd. to make use of its AI authentication tool called ‘Divya Drishti.’ It is learned to help in enhancing security measures. The development was announced by Defence Ministry and it showcases exciting collaboration between Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) with emerging tech innovators.

‘Divya Drishti’ comes with dual approach of authentication. It combines facial recognition with gait analysis. It also utilizes physiological parameters such as skeletal structure. The integration is learned to improve the accuracy of identifying individuals. Hence, it will reduce the likelihood of false positives and identity fraud.

The advancement is crucial in India with respect to defense and law enforcement as well as corporate and public infrastructure security. it is learned the AI tool was developed with the technical guidance of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence & Robotics (CAIR), which is a DRDO laboratory located in Bangalore.

Ingenious Research Solutions Pvt Ltd. is led by Dr. Shivani Verma, who earlier achieved in the ‘Dare to Dream Innovation contest 2.0’ that was organized by DRDO. Her leadership in developing ‘Divya Drishti’ is noteworthy and highlights significant contributions of women in technology and defense.

DRDO is commitment to AI development in recent years and it is evident from a couple of its earlier collaborations including projects with IIT Bhubaneswar on AI-driven surveillance. However, the latest partnership is an expansion into the law enforcement applications.
