Drone Startup NxtQube Secures Investment Led by Venture Catalysts

The drone industry is undergoing rigorous development in India. Startup NxtQube has lately secured seed funding led by Venture Catalysts. The exact amount is yet not known, but the funding round also witnessed participation from Pontaq VC (STPI NxtVentures), Ananta Bizcon LLP, Rushikesh Bhandari and several more angel investors.

NxtQube was founded in April 2022 by Nikhil Rajput and it quickly became a key player in the drone automation space since then. Its main product is a universal drone docking station that is capable in handling critical tasks such as drone landing and takeoff, flight monitoring, charging and data extraction. The docking station is modular and versatile. The station allows integration with various types of drones.

The business model followed by NxtQube is a hybrid one. It combines capital expenditure for the docking stations with subscription and perpetual license options for its software. It is a smart strategy and mainly focused on maximizing the revenue while simultaneously offering customers the flexible options. It is targeting the defense and enterprise sectors in Asia Pacific, Europe, the US and more regions. The global demand for autonomous drone operations is rising and NxtQube is well-positioned to tap a good share of the market, about 2 million drones globally.

NxtQube CEO and co-founder Nikhil Rajput said that their technology is designed to complement the existing drone ecosystem and provide a solution to enhance efficiency as well as autonomy.

Apoorva Ranjan Sharma, Co-founder and Managing Director of Venture Catalysts, said that the innovative approach of NxtQube to drone infrastructure aligns with their drone ecosystem. Their universal docking station is potential enough to reduce operational costs as well as increase efficiency in the drone deployments. He further said that NxtQube is well-positioned in the sector and can become a global leader in drone infrastructure.
