EV Motors India to raise $200M to build 6,500 charging outlets 1

EV Motors India which is a Noida based electric mobility startup is now looking to secure around Rs 1400 crore in order to build a network of around 6500 electric vehicles outlets across the PAN India in the coming five years. The charging outlets will be going to be built in partnership with the ABB India, Delta Electronics and DLF.

The news comes the startup has inaugurated its first charging outlet which is named as the “PlugNgo”, in Gurgaon on 28th of November. It will be installed at all the residential and businesses complexes across the cities and will be connected to its cloud based integrated software platform.

In the coming years, it is planning to set up the 20 outlets in the Delhi NCR region and then later expands it to other cities which includes the Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Cochin, Indore, Chennai, Amritsar, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Bangalore and Kolkata.

Talking about expansion plans supporting EV adoption in India, Vinit Bansal, Managing Director, EV Motors India, said, “Towards the vision of a large fleet of EVs across the country, a coordinated approach between real estate developers, vehicle OEMs and charger manufacturers is necessary.”

As nowadays government is also pushing towards the adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles in India with a target of 7 million sales in year by 2020. The charging solutions will be going to play an essential role in boosting the adoption of EV’s in the country which also provides a robust infrastructure.

With the aim to deliver the customized installation support, a 24×7 service center, remote vehicle charging monitoring and maintenance support and with the e-payments solutions the PlugNgo mobile application which is based on both the Android and iOS platforms, the startup will also support all kinds of vehicles which even includes the car, buses, two wheelers, and three wheelers.
