Facebook has now revealed a slew of initiatives to deliver the social and growth with the help of latest emerging technologies which includes the AI, the company revealed in a report.
With the help of this initiative, the Silicon Valley-based giant has developed a tool which connects blood banks and hospitals with the blood donor groups. The company previously had also developed and has been providing the disaster maps to aid the agencies so that relief can reach people at a faster pace.
Facebook yesterday hosted an ‘AI for the India Summit’ in Bangalore, which brought the AI thought leader, non-governmental organizations, developer community and startups together to plan its accelerator programme and scholarships for the people doing innovation in these areas.
“We have always sought opportunities to deploy the best of our expertise as an ally for India’s economic growth and social development and this summit is our effort to understand how we can contribute to the development of deep tech in India, as well as corral resources to use these technologies to develop impact solutions for tough and persistent problems,” said Ajit Mohan, vice president and managing director of Facebook India.
According to the report which has been revealed by Facebook, more than 35 Million people have already signed up to be the blood donors across the globe till date. It also added that the internal surveys have found that one in the five people has been influenced by Facebook in their decision to donate the blood.
Facebook India Innovation Accelerator will focus on the Artificial Intelligence for the Social Good, which will support and mentor startups that are using AI to address gaps within the high social impact areas of agriculture, healthcare, education, women safety, climate change and resilient cities among others.
