Now this is one update that we’re sure not even the craziest of the tech enthusiasts might have imagined coming from Facebook.
According to recent revelation made by the social networking giant’s Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, its users could get a chance to communicate telepathically sometime in the near future. Yes, you indeed read it right. Zuckerberg gave out the info during one the LIVE Q&A that he hosted on his own official Facebook page.
But, don’t get too excited too soon. While Zuckerberg did state that communicating telepathically is in Facebook’s to-do list, it might takes years or rather decades before this technology sees the daylight. This is because figuring out how to transfer thoughts between users will take time as the platform will have to take into account all the inevitable privacy concerns involved.
“You’re going to just be able to capture a thought, what you’re thinking or feeling in kind of its ideal and perfect form in your head, and be able to share that with the world in a format where they can get that. There’s some crazy brain research going on that suggests we might be able to do this at some point,” said Zuckerberg during the LIVE Q&A.
The Q&A session conducted by Zuckerberg saw him discussing potential new Facebook features that the company is currently working/researching on or intends to work on. The session also saw the founder discussing about the positive collective Facebook reaction to the Orlando shootings. He also spoke about how there’s a strong need for the people of the world to think less in terms of nations and more as “citizens of a global community” and use innovations in technology for the purpose of progress. Well, if Facebook is able to make this possible, it would really be a milestone for communication and technology.
