The vibrant entrepreneurial spirit took center stage at the third edition of the FICCI-TNIE Start-up Stars Awards, a collaborative initiative by FICCI Tamil Nadu Technology Panel and The New Indian Express. The event provided an opportunity for more than 10 impressive startups to display their innovative ideas and skills.
During the ceremony on Friday, P Selva Ganesh, the principal commissioner of Income Tax (Chennai Circle), shared valuable insights with the aspiring entrepreneurs. He stressed that it is crucial to create things that work in the real world, encouraging startup founders to know why their products or services matter and how they can benefit a lot of people.
Selva Ganesh addressed the historical entrepreneurial legacy of India, dating back to the Indus Valley Civilisation. Recognizing today’s challenges with jobs and living, he motivated startups to solve these problems and find ways to help society with their new ideas.
Vetinstant Healthcare Pvt Ltd received the special Startup of the Year award for its excellent contributions. Denovo Bioinnovations Pvt Ltd claimed the title of the Most Innovative Startup, while Mikro Grafeio (Beyond Workspaces) received accolades for its deep social impact. In the supply chain and logistics category, Droptaxi emerged as the winner, and Emertech Innovations Private Limited was named the Agri-tech Startup of the Year.
The Fintech category saw Agrya Finlabs Pvt Ltd securing the top spot, and Mykare Health earned recognition as the Health Startup of the Year. SM Smartygen Media Networks Private Limited was crowned the Media-tech Startup of the Year.
Many people from different industries and startup support areas took part in the event. Sivarajah Ramanathan, mission director of Startup TN, graced the occasion as the guest of honour, while Vignesh Kumar, senior vice president of TNIE, delivered a special address.
The FICCI-TNIE Start-up Stars Awards celebrated the success of these creative startups and highlighted how important entrepreneurship is for solving problems in society and helping the economy grow.
