Freshworks Journey toward IPO

Freshworks, Inc. is an Indian cloud-based customer service software provider that went public in November 2017. IPO means “Initial Public Offering” and it is when a company offers its shares for the first time via an IPO in order to raise money.

The company was founded in 2010 by Girish Mathrubootham and Shan Krishnasamy and is headquartered in Chennai, India with offices in Singapore, San Bruno (USA) and Vadodara (India)

Freshworks IPO raised $238 million and the share price opened at $27 per share before closing at $28.50 per share on its first day of trading

It’s the only publicly traded software company in India. This IPO is different than other IPOs because of its size and market position. Researchers are confident that this IPO will be successful because of its unique product, low price to earnings ratio, and high demand for CRM software in the Indian market.
