Google and Anthropic sit behind the mirror from commenting on the investment but behind the scenes the company has announced a partnership. In this partnership, Anthropic will be actively making utilization of Google’s cloud computing services. The deal marks the latest alliance between a tech giant and an AI startup in the field of generative AI technology that would be helpful in the generation of text and art in seconds heats up.

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud has mentioned that AI has evolved from academic research to become one of the biggest drivers of technological change. It believes in the creation of new opportunities for growth and improved services across all industries.

Kurian has mentioned that Google Cloud is helpful in facilitating open infrastructure for the next generation of AI startups. He added that the partnership with Anthropic is a great instance of how the company is helping users and businesses tap into the power of reliable and responsible AI.

Anthropic AI was founded in 2021 by former leaders of OpenAI Inc. The siblings Daniela and Dario Amodei built the foundation of Anthropic AI and made release a limited test of a new chatbot named Claude to rival OpenAI’s wildly popular ChatGPT.

The Google-Anthropic partnership follows a $10 billion investment by Microsoft Corp. in OpenAI.

Such huge investments are helpful for building more established companies such as Microsoft and Google to have access to some of the most popular and advanced AI systems. Startups that are similar to Anthropic, have a massive requirement of funding and cloud-computing resources that a tech giant like Google can facilitate. Google also mentioned that its cloud division would lend computing power and advanced AI chips that Anthropic plans to use to provide training and the deployment of its future AI products.

Anthropic’s language model assistant, Claude is still hidden from the public. But as per the plans of the company, they are going to expand access to the chatbot “in the coming months.”

Google is commitment to AI towards expanding the company’s core search business. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said that he intended to release chatbots in the coming weeks and months and will grant the permission to the consumers to use such products “as a companion to search.”
