It has been announced by the company that Google Meet has updated with support for captions on video recordings. The feature is capable enough to help the users of Google Meet in overcoming language barriers and disabilities while accessing recorded meetings.

The users of Google will soon be allowed to make the inclusion of captions in meeting recordings. The update feature will be recordings more useful things than before and accessible for meeting participants.

One of the most remarkable factors to consider is that the users can only be enabled by a Workspace admin and only the meeting host or co-host can record the meeting with a caption. Teachers or co-teacher are also allowed for creating the meetings through Google Classroom.

Google also mentioned that ability to include captions to the Google Meet video recordings will be available for Google Workspace Essentials, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus. Along with all these, Education Plus, the Teaching, and Learning Upgrade customers are also included into the list. The launch of the feature has an objective to Rapid Release domains on Wednesday, and will launch to Schedule the Release domains on March 1 and should be available to users by March 15.

On the previous basis, the company made an active launch of the live translated captions for Google Meet in January 2022. This feature had the ability to automatically translate conversations from one spoken language to another in real-time on Google Meet.

The available languages in which the captions are visible are Dutch (beta), English, French, German, Italian (beta), Japanese (beta), Korean (beta), Mandarin (Traditional) (coming soon), Portuguese (beta), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian (beta), Spanish (Mexico), Spanish (Spain).

The caption is located at the bottom of the screen at the tie of a Google Meet video call. Google Meet participants can also visualize an option to turn it on or off. They can also make the modifications of the language of the captions by heading to the menu and clicking over the captions by selecting a language and clicking Apply.
