Google’s upcoming Pixel Tablet is expected to get introduced in the year 2023. The Google pixel tab might have USI stylus support. The previous Android tablet from Google belonged to Pixel C and it was launched in September 2015. Previously, Google had already launched various tablets under the Nexus lineup.
From the list some of them were Nexus 7 and Nexus 7 (2013), the 2012 Nexus 10, and the 2014 Nexus 9. After having a break from manufacturing tablets for the past few years, Google introduced the Pixel Slate. The major and common limitation for all of these tablets was the lack of stylus support.
The Pixel Tablet might be the first Google tablet with the stylus support. A certification from the Universal Stylus Initiative (USI) lists a Google tablet with the product name “Tangor”. The listing was primarily spotted by NuGiz and the device is believed to be the Pixel Tablet. The Google tablet will be compatible with the multitude of USI styluses in case the device is proven to have accuracy. Google is a part of USI, that’s the reason why its first tablet in the past 5 years will support the standard.
The Pixel Tablet Will Have a Stylus Benefit
Google adding stylus support to its next tablet will attract those users who are seeking for an alternative to Apple’s iPad which has its own stylus named the Apple Pencil. The Pixel Tablet inherits all the advantages over Apple and even other Android tablets with a stylus like Galaxy Tab S8. By meeting the USI standard, the Pixel Tablet will be capable of working with any USI stylus. From CTL’s $30 stylus to the $65 Logitech Pen, users can opt to any USI stylus of their choice based on their requirements.
Last year, the company launched its own handwriting app called Cursive which came pre-installed with the HP Chromebook x2 11. Google recently released HP’s tablet to other Chromebooks with USI compatibility. There is even a likelihood of stylus support which is coming pre-installed with the Pixel Tablet.
The Pixel Tablet will need more than just stylus support to usurp the iPad’s control of the tablet market, with the most important part being the overall software as well as apps that can utilize the advantages of the large screen. Google is already working on fixing the release of Android 12L and it is expected that Android 13 will further improve the experience on the upcoming Pixel Tablet.
