With eSIM technology, you can switch network right on your phone by entering information from your carrier or scanning a QR code with your smartphone’s camera. With eSim, the main hassle of visit a store to pick up a sim and then waiting for activation is no more needed.

If you’re a dual-SIM user, eSIM technology even supports multiple accounts and switching between them is super easy. So, although you can’t physically remove an eSIM, it offers plenty of benefits and convenience for smartphone users.

eSims are safer and are better for usability

eSIM technology offers numerous benefits, including saving space by eliminating the need for a physical SIM tray. As eSim chipset is attached to the motherboard of the phone, as result it helps phone companies to design more sleeker versions of mobile phones with larger battery.

How eSim has an advantage over physical sim?

For starters, they are more secure. The attempt to steal a sim card is no more an option with eSim , as it is attached inside the smartphone.

Another smart advantage of switching to eSim is that when change phones, you don’t need to physically insert any sim, just by switching network carrier you will be good to go. For example, the iPhone allows up to eight eSIMs to be stored at one time, which can be easily switched between.

One of the best things about eSIMs is that they allow you to store multiple carrier profiles on your smartphone and switch between them effortlessly. This feature can be especially useful when traveling internationally, where you may need to switch to a local SIM card temporarily.

Besides convenience, eSIMs also allow for smaller, more fully-featured devices like smartwatches that can’t fit a SIM card tray. Additionally, eliminating the tray area means that the device’s water resistance is not hampered by a potential ingress point for liquids.

The only downside to eSIMs is that not all smartphone companies support them. Smartphone makers typically include a physical SIM slot alongside eSIM support to remedy this issue. Although one needs to keep in mind , just like normal SIM, eSIM to can be locked. To sum up the benefit of eSim is huge to customers who want more security, versatility and a smart space saving alternative for their phones.

How to set up eSim?

Installing an eSIM on your phone may vary depending on the type of phone you have, but the basic steps are similar.

When you purchase your phone, the retailer will likely ask you which cellular carrier you have an account with. Once you choose a carrier, you will need to provide your phone number and some account information.

When you turn on your new phone for the first time, it will already be connected to your cellular carrier. You will need to enter your phone number again and log into your carrier account, and your eSIM will activate. You may also need to scan a QR code. For setting up eSim, it is very important to keep in mind, that you should have good or strong internet connection preferable where you get WiFi connection it’s better to install and do the set up there.

If you buy your phone without specifying a cellular carrier, you can still set up your phone without installing an eSIM. After turning on your phone, go to the Settings app. On an iPhone, go to Cellular, and you’ll find the option to add an eSIM or convert to eSIM. On an Android device, search for SIM, tap SIMs, and then tap SIMs again to find the option to add an eSIM. The steps to connect your phone to a carrier will be provided for either device.

To ensure a successful eSIM installation, make sure to follow the specific instructions for your phone and have a stable internet connection.
