Gujarat’s Chief Minister, Shri Bhupendra Patel, kicked off something big on December 5, 2023 – the Student Startup and Innovation Hub, also known as i-Hub. The state is really into supporting new ideas and businesses with this project called the Student Startup and Innovation Policy.
During the inauguration, Chief Minister Patel personally handed out special letters to five startups, marking the start of their journey in the Incubation Co-working space. Minister Rushikesh Patel showed up at the event and made it clear that the government is dedicated to helping startups grow.
Following the event, Chief Minister Patel, along with Minister Rushikesh Patel, took a good look at the i-Hub complex. They talked with startup founders about their projects in defense, education, health, agriculture, sports and services. A total of 110 founders showcased their cool ideas.
Chief Minister Patel made sure to meet startups in certain areas and let them know that the government supports turning ideas into real businesses. The i-Hub place is huge, taking up 150,000 square meters, and it is filled with all the cool things startups need.
Think of it like a giant playground where 500 startups can team up and create cool ideas together. The i-Hub Center is not just about the space, but it offers high-speed internet, partnerships with organizations from around the world, and free or low-cost meeting rooms and facilities.
Startups at i-Hub also get guidance from experts in the Mentor Board, help with patents and trademarks and even financial support. The government is making sure startups get all they need to do well.
The event had important people like the Principal Secretary of the Higher & Technical Education Department, Shri Mukesh Kumar, Commissioner of Technical Education, Shri Banchhanidhi Pani, Director of Higher Education Department, Shri P B Pandya, and others. The i-Hub complex is Gujarat’s way of saying, “Let’s make great things happen together!”
