Inter Milan lately announced a partnership with blockchain technology company BlockDAG with a focus to adapt blockchain in the sports industry. It is the first major step for the iconic Serie A champions into the world of blockchain technology.
BlockDAG is said to revolutionize how fans interact with the club by becoming the official blockchain partner of the Inter Milan. Its technology is to be integrated across fan engagement initiatives such as ticketing and merchandising. Alessandro Antonello, CEO Corporate of FC Internazionale Milano, said that Inter Milan has always been at the forefront of innovation and the collaboration aligns perfectly with their vision to embrace new technologies.
The partnering is a significant milestone for BlockDAG as it can showcase its advanced blockchain technology to a broader audience and simultaneously demonstrate the benefits of its unique approach to recording transactions. It uses a directed acyclic graph (DAG) to record transactions and therefore offers a greater scalability and efficiency. The innovation means faster transaction times and lower fees as well for the fans.
BlockDAG CEO Antony Turner highlighted the importance of the collaboration. He said that the partnership will position the company at the forefront of blockchain adoption in the mainstream sports. It is to provide global exposure as well. The partnership will simultaneously extend to digital content, social media activations and targeted campaigns.
The 2024/25 season is soon to kick off and Inter Milan is focused on performing well on the field as well as in making strategic moves off the field. It has also welcomed some more new partners such as Gate.io and BPER. KONAMI has meanwhile retained its position. Betsson Group is now the new official main partner of the club.
