Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. (HPE) has come up with a brand-new set of Wi-Fi access points that is specifically designed for office buildings. The new product is named HPE Aruba Networking 730 Series and the access points utilize the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology. This promises faster speeds by 4x compared to the previous version.
One of the important features of the 730 Series to take note here is its UTB (ultra tri-band) filtering technology. It is learned that this helps in improving the wireless connections by reducing interference. Usually interference comes from nearby devices like smartphones and even the access points themselves.
These access points are also equipped with IoT-optimized radios to make them ideal for handling data traffic from such devices which are using Bluetooth and Zigbee standards. This means that they can easily connect to smart devices without the need for complicated setup processes.
Apart from these, the 730 Series also boasts increased onboard storage to allow companies to run data processing applications directly on the access points. This therefore opens up possibilities for deploying applications that analyze data from sensors.
Furthermore, the access points can collect data from connected devices and simultaneously track their locations using advanced technology. These support IEEE 802.11az, which is a location tracking technology. It also comes with a barometric pressure sensor to improve positioning accuracy.
Stuart Strickland, HPE Aruba’s wireless chief technology officer, highlighted the significance of the new access points. He stated that they are improving performance and also efficiency to become intelligent IoT hubs. The new series provide a strong foundation for various business and operational analytics.
The 730 Series also include power-saving capabilities which are driven by artificial intelligence and new cybersecurity features to protect network traffic from tampering attempts.
