Wipro Limited, which is a leading global IT, consulting and business process services company, today revealed a strategic partnership with the IISc, India’s premier public establishment for the higher education and research in Science, Engineering to conduct the advanced applied research in autonomous systems, 5G and robotics space.
Both the organizations have jointly set up the Wipro IISc Research and Innovation Network, which is a hybrid industry-academia collaboration, which will even drive idea research, discovery, and innovation in product and technology design.
A group of senior professors and an some of the research staff from the IISc and developers, architects and researchers from the autonomous system, 5G domains, and robotics at the Wipro will constitute the team at the WIRIN.
They will even focus on the development and research of the cutting edge technologies in machine Learning, Visual Computing, Human-Computer Interaction, and Artificial Intelligence and vehicle to Everything Communication.
We are speaking about the collaboration, Abidali Z. Neemuchwala, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Wipro Limited said, “We are excited to collaborate with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, one of the most prestigious research institutes in the world, to develop innovative solutions for autonomous systems, robotics, and 5G. Wipro from so many time has been investing in the area of the autonomous system and robotics for over eight years. Autonomous system work at the convergence of emerging technologies and are even poised to disrupt the multiple industries and verticals such as finance, smart cities, and mobility.
