The National Association of Software and Services companies have now signed up a Memorandum of Understanding with the IIT Madras for the Nasscom Future Skills platform.
The platform also aims to re-skills or upskill for the four million people from the information technology and IT-enabled services(ITeS) industry, students entering the workforce and the employees of other industries or the government, Nasscom revealed in a statement.
Nasscom and IIT Madras will be going to work towards the building up of skills academy which will also be going to have courses and training programmes.
Amit Aggarwal, chief executive, IT-ITES Sector Skills Council, Nasscom, said, “This MoU will be a significant catalyst for the FutureSkills initiative, which aims to get India accelerated on the path to becoming the global hub for talent for emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, cybersecurity, Big Data, cloud, and blockchain.”
Apart from just this, Nasscom has launched a couple of some other initiatives as well.
In the month of September this year, Nasscom has also revealed a programme which is aimed to help the deep tech startups in India. The Accelerate 10x growth programme is a part of the Nasscom 10000 startups initiative and will mentor 100 mature stage startups every year. It is also a six months programme which is divided into phases of 45 days each and will focus on three aspects such as the technology (engineering and underground tech labs), access to patient capital and product (global acceleration and mentoring), according to the report.
