India Launches New Science Channel To Create Scientific Awareness

It is a good that India is growing, which is otherwise known for religious dogmatic beliefs which has launched an internet based social channel which is merely dedicated to Science and Technology to create the scientific awareness among the citizens and also to prove that both the religion and science can co-exist.

Vigyan Prasar which works under the complete guidance of the Department of Science and Technology has launched an Over the Top channel that is known as the TV content with the help of a internet, that is dedicated to only science and technology content to create scientific awareness among the different fellow citizen by showcasing the set of recent tech development in the form of Science and Technology particularly from the scientific research institutions and laboratories.

India Science, ( which is a national science channel is now live and accessible to anyone who has any of the device which include the smartphone/laptop/ desktop/ smart TV, with just the proper internet connectivity. The channel has schedule programming with the video-on-demand (VOD) facility which is going to provide a great help for the people.

As of now the channel is available on the website but soon it is going to be coming on the Mobile App too. And will offer the video both in the Hindi and English with the video on demand facility.

The channel is going to be live everyday with the new content and with a broad category of library of theme based programming which is related to Science and Technology and more from the research institutions and laboratories which are based out of India, Ashutosh Sharma Secretary DST announced in a statement.

 “The intent is to make science in India accessible to a larger audience. All you need is an Internet connection to access the content using a smartphone and computer. [It will soon be available as a mobile App. It will have live content every day and a library of theme-based programmes related to science and technology,” says Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary, DST.

The entire team of the science channel which includes the Ashutosh Sharma is now also inviting ideas/suggestions/feedback from the people for improving the User Interface and feel of the channel.
