The Indian startup was founded in 2020 by Vishnu Ramesh. It basically addresses two critical challenges and these are the need for solutions based on the private data as well as the sensitivity of this data. Subtl.ai is working on a unique solution to cater such demands.

Ramesh described his company as a private Perplexity that is built on light models for enterprise. Subtl.ai was founded with a focus of for-profit research venture from IIIT Hyderabad. Since inception it has created a lightweight stack that integrates seamlessly with enterprise cloud environments. The USP is that it ensures data privacy by remaining offline.

The inspiration was from the ambition of Ramesh to develop a private Google. However, the startup is currently facilitating interactive document interactions and simultaneously helping users converse with their documents effectively.

A recent press release from the company stated that Perplexity Pro for Enterprise is offering real-time information access but simultaneously facing concerns about security just like Perplexity and other competitors are facing. However, it stands out by ensuring data privacy by blending external data with enterprise data.

One of the greatest advantages of Subtl.ai is in its ability to provide precise information quickly. Ramesh demonstrated and showcased how the platform assisted the State Bank of India in navigating regulations efficiently. It is utilizing Llama 3 8B and proprietary retrieval solutions to deliver specific paragraphs from vast documents. It reduces time-consuming searches to a great extent.
