India’s MSME Sector Gains Momentum at KIIT’s MSME, StartUp Trade Fair 2024

The MSME and StartUp Trade Fair 2024 opened at KIIT-DU in Bhubaneswar equipped with more than 65 startups from across India. It is a three-day event and to offer a valuable platform for startups to showcase their innovations and connect with potential investors. The founders get a chance to build partnerships in a supportive as well as growth-oriented environment.

The inauguration was led by Odisha’s Minister of State for Fisheries and Animal Resources Development and MSME, Gokulananda Mallik. He spoke about the importance of MSMEs in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a prosperous as well as developed India (Vikshit Rashtra).

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT and KISS, shared his pride in creating a space for startups to shine. He said that the event enables young entrepreneurs to showcase their work and learn from seasoned experts. He noted that more than 25 experts in technology are on hand to guide and inspire the participants there.

Dr. Krishna Kanth Pulichera from the Department of Science and Technology emphasized the focus on nurturing homegrown talent. He said that they here to create a strong and supportive ecosystem for startups through KIIT TBI.

Nalinaksh S. Vyas, an Emeritus Fellow at IIT Kanpur, applauded KIIT University for its unique commitment to strengthening academic and entrepreneurial growth.

The fair is supported by the Ministry of MSME and other influential organizations. It is organized under the Ministry’s Procurement and Marketing Support Scheme. P.K. Gupta from the MSME Development Institute in Cuttack stressed on the value of the fair for emerging businesses seeking growth.

As Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, CEO of KIIT TBI, summed up the inaugural part by said that the trade fair is a platform for startups to gain exposure and connect with the right resources.
