The Internet of Things (IoT) Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC) 2024 lately was through with its successful 8th edition that witnessed 11,000 attendees. It is a premier international event and was organized by Fira de Barcelona. It shines a spotlight on how disruptive technologies are transforming industries. It offered a glimpse into the future with various innovations including Internet of Things, Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented and Virtual Reality and of course the 5G connectivity phase.
The event featured 377 exhibiting companies, 98 conferences and sessions, and more than 150 experts. Leading companies showcased cutting-edge products and solutions. They also shared expertise in various sessions. One notable feature was the commitment to sustainability and it was embodied by the Green Tunnel through which delegates passed to attend conferences. The event pledged to plant a tree. This means a total of 7,733 trees are to be planted.
IOTSWC Director Marc Tarragó highlighted the role of the event as a showcase for transformative solutions and technologies which are to reshape the industrial landscape. He said that the attendees discovered how digitization could propel their businesses forward and it was basically guided by the insights as well as roadmaps provided by the experts and exhibitors at the event.
It was the fifth edition of the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress jointly with the IOTSWC. It was organized by Fira de Barcelona and the Agència de Ciberseguretat de Catalunya. It highlighted the importance of cybersecurity in the connected world. A notable feature of the event was the Hacking Village that hosted workshops, activities and ethical hacking competitions.
The next edition is scheduled to be held from May 13-15 in 2025 at the Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue.
