Addressing to Mahotsav 2023 organised by Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir Economic Growth and Development Dialogue (LEAD), Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, passionately emphasized the untapped potential across various sectors in the region. He said younger generation should grab the opportunities that come up and make local businesses thrive.
He gave a big thumbs up to the LEAD team for working hard in J&K and Ladakh and pointed out to their programs including ‘One District One Product’ and ‘District Export Hub’ that are making things better in the region. Such programs help local artists show off their skills to the world. They want to make sure the locally made products become globally renowned.
Sinha dreams of a future where young people in J&K get inspired by joining events like the two-day Mahotsav. It is like a well of inspiration for them. He believes if local businesses do well, the community in the region becomes richer and more prosperous.
At the event, the LG took time to give respect to Veer Naris, the families of brave soldiers who are not with them and ex-servicemen as well. He thanked them for their sacrifices for our nation. He also took a stroll through the stalls set up by various entities, including government departments, SKUAST Jammu, the Institute of Music and Fine Arts at the University of Jammu, the Army, entrepreneurs, and Farmer Producers Organizations, Cooperatives, and Self Help Groups.
The presence of dignitaries such as Major General Gaurav Gautam, Director of LEAD Mr. Sunil Shah, and retired military officials added a significant weight to the occasion.
In essence, the call from the LG echoes a broader sentiment – the need for J&K to harness its inherent strengths and talents.
