From the past couple of year, kaiOS which is as of now revolutionizing the feature phone market enhancing it with some of the functionality traditionally that is reserved for the smartphones. It is already the third most used mobile OS across the globe and it has its sights set on reaching a billion users.
In June, Google has also invested around $22 Million of funding in the company and added its search, Assistant apps, and Maps to the platform. Now a new investment which even includes the $50 Million is headlined by the TCL and Google as the team behind the growing economy of a mobile platform that gears to enter some of the new markets.
KaiOS also saw some of the impressive growth in the year 2018 to its successful launch in Africa and its strategic partnerships with the companies like the Facebook, Qualcomm and Google. Researchers suggest that the feature phone segment is nowadays on the track to become a $28 Billion market by the end of 2022.
