Researchers from around the world including from the University of Hawaii at Manoa used machine learning to understand how actions of human beings are affecting the weather. They found that the things we do are changing the climatic conditions of various places. This is causing problems like heavy rains and droughts in various parts of the world.

The researchers fed a plethora of information about the climate and rainfall patterns in the machine learning computer program. They discovered that starting around the middle of the 2010s the pattern of everyday rainfalls started to change. They said that the change is because of the things people are doing that warm up the Earth.

These changes in rainfall patterns are a big deal because they can lead to more extreme weather events, like heavy rains that cause floods or long periods without rain that can lead to droughts and wildfires. While some changes in the amount of rain might still seem natural in some places, the scientists are pretty sure that global warming caused by human activities is making the daily rain patterns go haywire, even in areas like the eastern United States and Canada.

The researchers said it is high time to pay attention to these changes as these are going to get worse in the future. So, while it is important to reduce the pollution that is causing global warming, we also need to study and understand how rain is changing in different places. This will help us in making plans to deal with such crazy weather conditions and simultaneously try to protect our communities from the adverse situations.
