They discovered that starting around the middle of the 2010s the pattern of everyday rainfalls started to change. They said that the change is because of the things people are doing that warm up the Earth.
These changes in rainfall patterns are a big deal because they can lead to more extreme weather events, like heavy rains that cause floods or long periods without rain that can lead to droughts and wildfires. While some changes in the amount of rain might still seem natural in some places, the scientists are pretty sure that global warming caused by human activities is making the daily rain patterns go haywire, even in areas like the eastern United States and Canada.
The researchers said it is high time to pay attention to these changes as these are going to get worse in the future.
