Micromax, the brand that prides itself on being based out of India and has build an awesome reputation producing in-budget phones, has now ventured into manufacturing smart LED TVs. The company announced the newest addition to its product line recently through a statement.
“With an aim to provide an impetus to the nascent smart LED TV segment, which contributes up to8 per cent to the overall LED TV sales in the country, Micromax is set to create an ecosystem of connected devices by bringing alive the seamless experience across multiple screens,” said Micromax in a statement to the Press.
The Canvas smart LED TV range comes in 32, 40 and 50-inch screen sizes and will be available on one of India’s most loved and used e-commerce site, Flipkart. The prices for the smart LED TV range starts from a decent Rs 19,999 and goes till Rs 42,999.
According to the information made available by the company, the Canvas smart LED range comes power packed with amazing features such as the Mi Connect, Miracast, and Home-share as also a wireless smartphone control that has an inbuilt Smart Operating System. They also comes with the Google Play Store app preloaded. In addition to all this, all the Smart LED TVs also have built-in Wi-Fi to allow people make most of their Smart TVs.
According to a statement given by Rohan Agarwal, vice president, Consumer Electronics, Micromax Informatics, “In April this year, we announced our vision to be a leading consumer electronics brand by diversifying our product portfolio and moving into non-mobility segments. With this launch, we are looking at capturing a market share of 12% in FY 17 and a revenue of Rs 1,500 crore making us one of the clear leaders in the category.”
Let’s see if the Canvas smart LED TV range is able to make Micromax achieve the 12 per cent market share aim in the domestic television segment by the year 2017 it has set for itself.
