GroupM media buying agency Mindshare has now revealed a video chatbot advertisement for the Vodafone Idea 4G campaign featuring the YouTube comedian Mallika Dua, who is also the daughter of Journalist Vinod Dua. The voice-enabled AI campaign, which also attempts to boost up the experience of the video calling Mallika Dua in the real-time scenario, was created by the mCanvas, an experimental storytelling advertisement platform for the small screens.
The software allows the user to face to appear on the mobile screen, besides enabling them to connect with the Dua by clicking on the mic icon. The tool Artificial Intelligence listens to user questions in both Hindi and English.
The campaigns are live on news websites and various social media sites.
“By leveraging Dua’s popularity and Idea’s 4G network, we are hopeful of bringing about a change in people’s behavior and habits, as well as encourage more people to go Live to highlight societal issues,” said Niraj Ruparel, national head, mobile, Mindshare India.
The advertisement campaign allows the users to interview Dua, which the release also claims is something that has not been attempted before in the digital mobile advertisement space. The tool also allows users to connect with the host and ask the questions pertaining to a broad range of topics.
Artificial Intelligence chatbots are common in the enterprise space, especially in the financial domain. The idea 4G campaign is an example of an AI tool in the business to consumer ads domain.
