Hiring the right talent has always been a challenge for companies. It might feel like a straightforward process for job seekers. It is like submit a resume, clear a few interviews and land the job. But it is not so straightforward for recruiters. It is a time-consuming journey of scanning through countless resumes, conducting interviews and finding the perfect match.

Mumbai-based Babblebots is on a mission to change the process for recruiters. The startup was founded in 2022 by Roli Gupta and it uses Generative AI (GenAI) to simplify as well as speed up recruitment. It has created digital AI recruiters to hold human-like conversations with candidates, screen CVs, conduct interviews and provide assessments.

Gupta emerged with the idea for Babblebots during the Covid-19 pandemic. She realized from her experience in technology and entrepreneurship that basic HR tasks like sourcing and screening could be automated by using AI.

Babblebots today serves both Indian and US-based companies such as Alkem Laboratories and IIT Bombay. The platform has so far conducted more than 40,000 interviews and simultaneously analyzed thousands of hours of interview data to refine its AI capabilities.

Babblebots didn’t start as a recruitment tool initially. Gupta actually launched it as a B2C platform to help individuals to improve their interview skills. The idea worked in theory but lacked the required scalability for long-term success. This led to work on a B2B model and focus on businesses rather than on individual users.

Babblebots stands out due to its ability to address one of the biggest pain points in hiring and it is efficiency. It allows companies to focus on the strategic aspects of recruitment while saving costs.

Platforms like Babblebots could redefine the way companies build their teams.
