NVIDIA has recently made a significant investment in San Jose-based networking software startup Arrcus Inc. to enhance data traffic management for enterprises. A total of $30 million was raised in a funding led by NVIDIA. Some other notable investors were Saudi Aramco’s Prosperity 7 Ventures, Hitachi Ventures and General Catalyst. It is learned that the fresh capital will help the startup to scale its global operations and advance its technology infrastructure.
Arrcus is widely known among corporate giants. Companies like SoftBank Corp. and Target Corp. are its clients. It specializes in optimizing data flow across networks which are crucial for enterprises and data centers. Its flagship is the ACE platform and it is powered by NVIDIA’s BlueField DPU. It uses a distributed microservices architecture that provides flexibility, high performance and scalability. The platform supports various applications including low-latency data center networking and hybrid cloud connectivity.
CEO Shekar Ayyar expressed his enthusiasm on the new partnership. He highlighted the advanced networking software of Arrcus combined with AI infrastructure of NVIDIA to boost efficiency for data centers, edge computing as well as cloud environments.
Arrcus has a strong presence in Bengaluru and houses around 150 employees. Many of its employees are also part of the expanded support and engineering team in the city.
The fresh investment aligns with the broader strategy of NVIDIA to provide support to such startups that can enhance enterprise solutions. Its earlier acquisition of AI development platform Brev is a proven example of the strategy. Its support to Arrcus is believed to be highly promising with respect to innovative advancements in data network management.
