In 2019, Opera Browser made the inclusion of a free inbuilt VPN (a virtual private network) in its mobile browser for Android. Presently, the company is making the launch of the free VPN feature on Opera browser for iOS as well. This would grant permission to iPhone and iPad users to browse the Web privately without making the utilization of any additional extensions. With this latest addition, Opera promises to become the first Web browser to offer a free inbuilt VPN over Android, Mac, Linux, Windows, and iOS platforms.
Opera has introduced the addition of a free VPN to the Opera browser for iOS. This update is going to allow iPhone and iPad users to access the Web while considering online security and anonymity in mind. They have done this by creating a private network from a public Internet connection.
IOS users can turn on the VPN from the hamburger menu on the homepage. They can do the encryption of the VPN traffic and maintain the privacy of the IP address. The new native VPN service is now available for free and does not come with any attached log management condition. Along with this, there are no additional extensions required to avail of these services.
Opera promises that the browser does not make the collection of any personal data or information related to browsing history or originating network addresses of users.
The free VPN is currently available on different platforms that are – Opera for Mac, Windows, Linux, and Android. Opera has become the primary Web browser to facilitate VPN across all major platforms. No charges are imposed on this feature.
The company is expected to do the launch in the upcoming weeks.
Besides the free VPN service, the Opera browser for iOS is also launching multiple new features. The company is also making a launch of the Bookmarks feature for organizing online activities. This feature is inherited with a Speed Dial facility that permits the users to instantly access pages or sites. Also, there is a new Live Score feature that would display scoreboards of the day’s matches on the browser’s homepage.
The feature is offering a Fast Action Button that helps to make the organization of all navigation tools within a thumb’s reach. The flows are helpful in enabling the sharing of files between phones, tablets, and computers and the browser’s Crypto Wallet. This will grant permission to the users to keep the track of their digital assets at all times.
