Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with a group of dynamic startups in Kashmir. He was at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar and the interaction was a part of the “Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K” program that was organized by the J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI).
PM Modi explored the creative endeavors of 20 startups and he paid special attention to 10 of them which were identified by JKEDI. The startups hailed from both Kashmir and Jammu divisions. They showcased various innovative solutions and business models.
The featured startups were M/s Turan & Tarub by Sheela Imran, M/s Cheese Cottage Homestay by Insha Shabir, M/s Curve Electric by Sheikh Yameen, M/s Studio Agama by Rahul Bhola, M/s Rach Smart Solutions by Atul Banotra, M/s Daskdan Innovations by Naveed Chiken, M/s Via ENS by Arush Mahajan, M/s Hackers Pathshala by Risheek Kumar, M/s CLMRAT by Manik Bandral and M/s SAP Aerospace by Ayush Divyansh.
Each startup shared their journeys of starting a company and emphasized their passion for innovation. PM Modi lauded their efforts and simultaneously encouraged them to continue their innovations. The event highlighted a broader goal the region is contributing to the development of the nation.
The startups were honored with mementos at a felicitation event that was held at the Kashmir Government Arts Emporium in Srinagar. Several key officials were present including Chief Secretary of J&K, Sh. Atul Dulloo (IAS), Commissioner/Secretary of Industries and Commerce Department, Sh. Vikramjit Singh (IPS) and Director of JKEDI, Sh. Rajinder Kumar Sharma (JKAS).
The engagement of PM Modi with the startups is more than a symbolic gesture. In fact, it is evident that the youths of Jammu and Kashmor has potentials.
