Ayurveda is one of the most ancient healing systems in India and now the sector is stepping into the future equipped with technology. Pune-based startup Atreya Innovations has come up with a unique device called Nadi Tarangini.
Nadi Tarangini was developed by Aniruddha Joshi when he was doing his research at IIT Bombay. It combines sensitive sensors with advanced AI algorithms to analyze a total of 22 Ayurvedic health parameters like assessing Tridosha balance (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), stress and digestion. A detailed picture of well-being of patients are provided. Moreover, it can generate reports in 10 Indian languages to make it accessible to a diverse population.
The device is apart for its accuracy as the reported success rate is 85%. It is simultaneously also the first Ayurvedic medical device in India to have received approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO).
The idea of Nadi Tarangini was basically conceptualized by Joshi’s father Padma Bhushan Prof. J.B. Joshi. It was a journey of more than six years thereafter equipped with intensive research to turn the idea in reality. The dedication reveals that traditional practices can be evolved with the right blend of innovation and persistence.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the device in his Mann Ki Baat program. The device is priced at ₹55,000 and it is claimed to transform the way Ayurveda is practiced and perceived worldwide.
Atreya Innovations has secured seed funding of ₹5 crore recently to scale up production, enhance research and expand distribution network.
Nadi Tarangini is a perfect example of the way tradition and technology can coexist. It is more than a product as it is a leap forward for Ayurveda.
