Chhattisgarh capital Raipur has partnered with AirChains to bring real estate records onto the blockchain. The effort is set to transform how real estate transactions are managed. It ensures security and authenticity. Hence, it is believed there would be no more forgery of documents and bureaucratic delays.
The Raipur Municipal Corporation processes more than 8,000 building permits and related documents annually. It has chosen AirChains through a competitive tendering process to implement this innovative solution. AirChains is known for its zero-knowledge fully homomorphic encryption (zk-FHE). It offers a robust platform for securely managing data. The technology allows computations to be performed on encrypted data. The data goes encrypted through the process and this is the reason privacy and security could be maintained.
Abinash Mishra, Commissioner of the Raipur Municipal Corporation, highlighted the frequent issues of document forgery in the current system. He said that they have developed the solution with the AirChains team. They are also exploring similar digital documentation through blockchain of essential services such as birth, death and marriage certificates. The shift is expected to eliminate fraudulent activities as the documents can now be tamper-proof and under a verifiable record system.
AirChains CEO Ankur Rakhi Sinha emphasized that the project is the first use case of zk-FHE in India. He explained that zero-knowledge proofs ensure veracity of information without exposing the real data. Its fully homomorphic encryption allows encrypted data to be processed without decryption. The dual approach guarantees security as well as functionality.
Currently the transition is underway. Soon the records will go live with real-time data integration. Sinha mentioned that around 100,000 old certificates have already been encrypted. Daily updates will be seamlessly integrated into the blockchain after it is fully operational.
