Review: Micromax Alpha 15.6-inch screen laptop

Micromax, the company which is known for its low-on-budget but high-on-features smartphones, is now trying its hands on doing the same with laptops.

Even though the company had sometime ago announced a couple of 2-in-1 devices, this particular laptop, which is a part of its much appreciated Alpha series, is the first proper laptop from Micromax to make its debut in the market.

The company has currently launched only one model (LI351568W) for an affordable Rs 26,990. The 15.6-inch screen laptop comes loaded with the Core i3 5005U processor and makes use of the latest Windows 10. In addition to this, it has a 6GB RAM, 500GB internal storage and an efficient 4-cell battery. Weighing just 2.1kg, the laptop is very easy to use and carry around for work.

Micromax has even taken care of the people who use their laptops for entertainment purposes like listening to songs or watching movies etc. The Micromax laptop, which is being sold exclusively at Flipkart, comes with amazingly powerful dual speakers which enables deeper bass, louder sound and unmatched sound and clarity.

Recent times have seen a number of smartphones only companies spreading their wings by offering other products. Since the smartphone market is becoming more and more competitive by each passing day, branching out their options seems like a logical thing to do. In addition to the laptops, Micromax has also ventured in the television market. The company had only recently unveiled three of its smart TVs to the world.

There are a number of other companies which are taking a route similar to Micromax and diversifying their product line. One of them is China’s much famous smartphone brand Xiaomi. The company recently unveiled its first laptop in its home country China. LeEco, which is another primarily mobile company, recently took a shot at something different when it debuted its 4K resolution smarts TVs in India.
