Humane, a startup backed by Sam Altman, is gearing up for the launch of its amazing Humane AI Pin device in India. The company has initiated talks with Indian phone companies to get ready for this big step.
Imran Chaudhari, chairman and president of Humane, revealed that the company has begun early talks with Indian telcos and aims to make official announcements by the end of the year.
Founded in 2017 by former Apple executives Bethany Bongiorno and Imran Chaudhri, Humane has secured approximately $200 million in funding from notable backers such as Microsoft, Qualcomm Ventures and Sam Altman of OpenAI.
The AI Pin costs $699 and comes with a $24 monthly subscription. This subscription gives users access to a phone number and unlimited data for AI queries. T-Mobile has been enlisted as the launch partner for the U.S. market, while a recent deal with South Korean carrier SK Telecom marked its entry into international markets.
The AI Pin is a small device that you can clip onto your clothes or accessories. It lets you search, translate, navigate and do more with AI using your voice, gestures and touch.
Unlike regular tech products, the AI Pin does new things like talking to an AI chatbot using your voice and laser ink.
Chaudhari talked about working with partners to find different ways to use the device. They think it could help with diagnosing problems by understanding the context.
Chaudhari said people’s tastes are changing. The AI Pin is not supposed to replace smartphones but to work with them. It gives users a new way to use technology, making it better and helping them connect with it more.
