Bengaluru-based startup Slikk has successfully secured $300,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Better Capital and also participation from Untitledxyz Ventures. The startup is known for 60-minute clothes delivery service. The fresh capital is learned to expand its offerings to more than 100 brands and simultaneously establish a large-format dark store to enhance delivery operations. Its plan is highly ambitious to cover 70% of Bengaluru’s pin codes.
Slikk was founded by Akshay Gulati and it is mainly targeting the Gen Z and young millennials. It is basically catering to the impulsive shopping habits of them by offering a 60-minute delivery service. The fast fashion industry is at the core of its business model. Gulati said that the Gen Zs and young millennials are impulsive shoppers and they are the biggest target group today for fast fashion brands. The impulse is driven by the frequent refreshment of trends as well as the need for faster delivery.
Slikk features unique weekly updates of new trends and designs from emerging fashion brands. Its 60-minute delivery is expected to differentiate it in the fast-paced e-commerce segment in Benglauru.
The startup also has plans to expand product range and include beauty, personal care as well as home décor in the future. This will broaden its appeal to customers with diverse lifestyle needs. It also intends to enter other Indian metropolitan markets across in the coming months.
Vaibhav Domkundwar, a representative from Better Capital, expressed enthusiasm about the potential of Slikk to reshape fast fashion.
