Wipro Limited is now working on connected lightning space to grow its commercial lighting business across the few months.
Now the company has tied up with the Cisco for the Power Over the Ethernet and PureLiFi for the Internet of the Lighting Solutions, an area which it merely believes that commercial lighting is moving across the field. The business of light produces the revenue of 26% to the $1 Billion Wipro Consumer Care and Lightning.
The company official said that they are seeing a lot of interest in the solutions of smart lighting for both the smart city projects as well as for the offices.
The company has also created a portfolio of products especially for these, which even includes the IoT and sensor-based solutions. The market size of the commercial outdoor and indoor lighting is around to be Rs 7000-Rs 8000 crore, which is as of now company is more focusing towards.
Wipro has also recently revealed the partnership with the Schreder for the IOT based solution for the smart campuses and smart cities like a ‘Shuffle Smart Pole’ which could also be used as a hub to collect and transport the data for the multiple services across the city.
“Power over Ethernet (PoE) solutions are gaining traction in Europe and the US. We’ve done a few pilots in India and are seeing an increase in interest,” said Dhir.
The company now with the partnership with the Cisco is working on to make the lighting a much safer and secure and also make it possible to introduce the sensor-based solutions as this will help the managers to remotely enable the lights and temperature in the room depending upon the level of occupancy.
