Sony is embracing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. It has been revealed through its corporate report. The report adds that the focuses now are on accelerating PlayStation game development and expanding its reach to a wider audience. The company aims to enhance efficiency and quality as well. It will be possible through innovative technologies and by enabling creators to maximize the value of their intellectual property (IP). The content will thereafter be delivered faster and at a lower cost.
Sony mentioned in the report about the integration of machine learning and AI in recent projects and one such is the production of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. One standout initiative of Sony is its Volumetric Capture Studio. It creates high-quality 3D assets by capturing data from real people and locations. The studio allows generation of detailed and lifelike 3D models. This can thereafter be used across different Sony divisions. Sony also has plans to leverage the technology for internal projects and simultaneously explore potential external sales opportunities.
