South Korean startup Callus Company has taken an entry in the Indian market and with some great ambitions. It has lately launched SPRINT Program and aims to connect India’s skilled as well as underemployed youth to international career opportunities. The move offers a unique career-building platform to support Indian students and professionals in securing global roles.

The SPRINT Program is an internship initiative and built with promise of stability as it is focusing on long-term career opportunities. This means a rare chance to gain global exposure for Indian professionals. The opportunity is a fair compensation and equipped with career development. CEO Ryan Kim calls India as the ideal destination for SPRINT.

The entry of Callus Company into India is part of a broader support program and it is the K-Startup Centre (KSC) 2024 cohort that is run by The Circle: Founders Club in India and backed by the Korea Institute of Startups & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED). The program supports South Korean startups which are exploring new markets by providing valuable insights, mentorship and local partnerships.

The timing is perfect considering India’s recent education policies. The University Grants Commission (UGC) policy introduced in October 2023 now mandates internships of 60-120 hours for students. It is a requirement that the program of Callus Company addresses directly. It helps students to meet the graduation requirements, gain valuable experience and improve career prospects.

Callus has set an ambitious target to build a talent pool of 100,000 skilled candidates in India by 2026. The company has partnered with leading universities including SRM University in Chennai, Amity University in Noida and VTU in Bangalore to achieve the goal.

Callus Company hopes to bridge the gap between India’s educational institutions and the global job market through the SPRINT Program.
