STPI Partners with Leading Organizations to Boost Blockchain Innovation in Gurugram

In a move to boost innovation and entrepreneurship in blockchain technology, the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has launched the Apiary Center of Entrepreneurship (CoE) in Gurugram. This collaboration between STPI, MeitY, the Haryana government, Padup Ventures, IBM, Intel, GBA and FITT aims to support up to 100 blockchain startups over the next five years.

The CoE’s launch, led by MeitY secretary S Krishnan, signifies a crucial step in advancing emerging technologies. STPI, operating under MeitY, is committed to driving progress in IT, startups, innovation and pioneering areas like AI, machine learning, robotics, fintech and blockchain. Their track record of establishing over 20 CoEs across the nation demonstrates their dedication to technological advancement.

The Apiary CoE, unveiled recently, spans in 7,000 square feet infrastructure and is equipped with 80 workstations, conference rooms and an auditorium. Its main purpose is to robustly support blockchain startups and nurture entrepreneurship within the blockchain technology sector.

The CoE supports startups with a blockchain platform, access to experts, mentorship and venture capital. STPI has partnered with the Government Blockchain Association (GBA) to share best practices, particularly in areas like identity management and cybersecurity. Governments and businesses are increasingly embracing blockchain, including Reliance Industries and the Tripura government. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlights blockchain’s transformative potential while stressing the need to address anonymity and governance challenges. STPI’s collaboration with its partners is set to shape the future of blockchain innovation in Gurugram and strengthen a thriving startup ecosystem.
