Study Reveals AI Chatbots Exhibiting Human-Like Traits and Personalities

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming more skilled at acting like humans as technology is advancing. In a recent study, as revealed by journal PNAS, it is found AI chatbots are gradually resembling humans.

These AI chatbots, represented by notable models like ChatGPT-3 and ChatGPT-4 developed by OpenAI, have demonstrated remarkable advancements in their ability to emulate human-like characteristics. These AI chatbots are able to speak, offer guidance and simultaneously generate new thoughts too.

Researchers from a team looked at AI chatbots by studying data from over 108,000 people worldwide. They looked at how the chatbots behaved and how they performed in various games as well.

ChatGPT-4 acted a lot like humans, sometimes even better. In games testing things like kindness and fairness, it showed empathy and made strategic decisions just like people do. In contrast, ChatGPT-3 displayed some deviations from human norms, suggesting a disparity in its ability to replicate human-like interactions.

The study helps us see how AI is improving gradually. It suggests that AI could be helpful in various jobs including customer service and counseling. However, it also reminds us to consider ethics and ensure that AI makes fair decisions.

As technology keeps advancing, we need to be careful when using AI. We need to do more research and collaborate, involving technologists, ethicists, and policymakers, to ensure that AI benefits us without creating issues.

In brief, it can be said that the study helps us learn more about AI and how it is evolving. It reminds us to consider the ethics as well as the social impact of using AI.
